Google Opt-out parody is equal parts funny and scary

The Onion, a parody news site, shows how the Google of the future could let us "keep our information from them". While this is funny, Google has been facing a lot of privacy concerns both from the US Government and its users. As Google continues to grow, and invade our privacy more and more, will situations similar to the below parody not seem so far fetched and funny?
