Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz strongly, if indirectly, criticized former Yahoo CEO Jerry Yang for turning down Microsoft's $40 billion buyout offer last year, in essence calling his decision "stupid." Given that Yang is still a Yahoo board member, that should make for interesting board meetings.
On CNBC, when asked whether she would have accepted Microsoft more than $40 billion offer to buy Yahoo last year, Bartz replied, "Sure, do you think I'm stupid?" reports MercuryNews.com.
Clearly, the implication that Yang was "stupid" in turning down the Microsoft offer. Since taking over Yahoo, Bartz has pursued business relationships with Microsoft, including a sizable search partnership.
Yang, meanwhile, remains on the Yahoo board. And by turning down the Microsoft offer last year, he clearly lived up to another one of his current titles: Chief Yahoo.
