New Dutch ads hint at lower priced Minis, thinner Macbooks and iMacs

Apple leaks come in all shapes and sizes.  This weekend, some Dutch Googlers got a sneak peak at upcoming Apple consumer products.

Specifically, the ads targeted the Mac Mini, the iMac and the polycarbonate MacBook.  Each one can be seen here (Jeff Valvano at AppleInsider also caught these ads).  Translated, they came with the following descriptions:

MacBook: Thinner, lighter and faster!

iMac: Ultra-Thin 20 & 24 inch models. 

Mac mini: Faster and more affordable than ever. From only €499. Order immediately.

These are all new ad campaigns by TBWA/Chiat/Day's Media Arts Lab that certainly implies that there will be some changes on the new products.

The Minis look to drop in price €100 from their current starting prices of €599. That will probably translate across the globe to a $500 Mini in the US.  With that price drop I'd be surprised to see much in the way of added features.

The iMacs look to be getting a thinner bezel - probably very similar to the 24-inch Apple Cinema Display.  Frankly, I'm not sure what difference a few centimeters would make on a iMac but ...that's just Apple being Apple.

Most interesting is the MacBook line.  "Thinner, lighter and faster." That seems to imply a processor upgrade - probaby similar to the low end Pro lineup.  That also implies that the Macbook will have a new sleeker design - probably still polycarbonate shell, but obviously thinner, and lighter.  Could we be seeing an end to the DVD drive as well?  (good riddance!)

When?  Well, if the Google ads are running already, we can't be more than a week or two away from such a new product launch.  I'd clear out your Tuesday morning calendars if you are looking for a new consumer Mac.
