The Boy Genius Report has the whole enchilada on the Motorola Droid that has been making some waves lately. It looks like they got their hands on a pre-production piece of hardware and have reviewed it. Below are some pictures and mouth-watering hardware details.

They give a few specs and first impressions:
- Runs Android 2.0
- Only slightly thicker than the iPhone - and that is with a slider keyboard!
- Fastest Android device they've tested. No surprise because it has an ARM Cortex A8 TI OMAP3430 processor
- They say huge display. From the FCC information I know that it is 854x480 pixels, which is 2-3 times the space as the Pre, G1 or iPhone.
Perhaps most interesting is this statement:
From what we’ve been told, Google had a direct hand in the Motorola Droid. Something to the point of almost dictating every move Motorola made when designing and making the phone.
Very interesting indeed. So, this is really Google's baby and something they are highly vested in.
BGR continues its flattery of the device by saying it is the best smartphone they've laid hands on -- since the iPhone.
My concerns would be the battery life of this device because of the thin-ness, the apps running in the background and huge screen.
I'd also be wary of Verizon trying to put its proprietary stuff on Android rather than getting a choice of applications.
Also, as it is EDVO, will it have GSM radios so I can travel abroad with it?
All things we'll find out on October 30th - or before.
