Linux creator: A big fan of Windows 7?

Make of it what you will, but Linux creator Linus Torvalds has been photographed in front of a stack of copies of Windows 7 in Japan giving a big thumbs-up.
As you can see below, in a photo from Jim Zemlin of the Linux Foundation, there's Torvalds, in all his smiling glory. He's at Yodobashi, a Japanese consumer electronics store in Tokyo. Why Tokyo? The Linux Foundation is holding a meeting there.
Torvalds has a much greater sense of humor than do many Linux true believers, so I don't really believe he's endorsing Windows 7. He's just having a bit of fun ... something those involved in the operating system wars would do well to emulate once in a while.
