Seeing Through Windows

Ouch! Brave souls down Windows 7 Whoppers; live to tell the tale

The Windows 7 Whopper from Burger King weighs in with seven full patties, but that hasn't stopped people wordlwide from attempting to eat the gut-busting heart-killer. Below you can find videos that show them eating them in what appears to be attempts at suicide-by-burger.

As I blogged last week, Microsoft and Burger King have teamed in a promotion for the Windows 7 Whopper in Japan --- seven patties stacked atop one another in a single sandwich. I reported that it has 1,000 calories, but others have since said it's more than 2,000 calories. Either way, it's more meat than you'll eat in a week.

The Windows 7 Whopper has since been seen in the wild in other places as well, including the United States. And plenty of people are willing to risk death-by-burger to get their three minutes of fame by posting videos of themselves eating the behemoth. Check out videos below to see for yourself.

First, check out an American guy named CheapyD and his friend CampingKevin in Japan trying to wolf two down. Food porn alert: Closeups of ketchup oozing on top of massive amounts of meat are included.

Meanwhile, a guy named Joey here stateside in the U.S. takes on one as well. Beware: Joey has a big, thick beard, and eating nearly two pounds of greasy beef doesn't make it it any prettier.

Why should guys have all the fun? CNN's petite journalist in Japan Kyung Lah does the deed. We only see her take the first few bites and the last one, so we'll have to trust that she's actually eaten the whole thing.

Finally, two guys with English accents in a car eat Windows 7 Whoppers simultaneously --- thankfully, not while driving. One bloke use a napkin as a bib. Still, if I were him, I'd go right to a car wash --- and sit on the hood of his car as he goes through.

What People Are Saying

awesome song for the UK

awesome song for the UK boys. :)

still, the Windows Whopper isnt exactly healthy looking.

How about a 7-dee percent

How about a 7-dee percent discount instead!!!!!

If they offered seven pieces

If they offered seven pieces of tomato and said "Windows 7 is a healthy upgrade to your system, and your PC" I think it would have sent a much clearer message. what were they thinking with the patties instead!

Just be happy that they

Just be happy that they didn't get that idea with Windows 2000!

Kudos for honesty

Using a massive amount of meat that only a small percentage of humans could ingest to advertise the latest Windows offering is amazingly truthful. If Microsoft were actually showing a sense of humor, I would applaud. Unfortunately, I'm afraid this is just typical cluelessness. For the record, Burger King DOES grill their patties, the fat isn't nearly as atrocious as fried stuff.

MS advertising misstep

Nothing like trying to show how cool and hip your new operating system is like teaming up with a counter culture fast food joint whose commercials feature a 7 foot tall king freaking people out.

a 7 foot tall king freaking people out

Charlemagne?

Sorry, *you* pay *me*

No way am I paying anyone to have that pile of grease and gristle served to me. Give me a free copy of Windows 7 Ultimate (with legitimate activation key), and I'll choke one down; I'd even do it on camera. But there's no smaller reward that would get me to put that pseudofood in my body.

Selling yourself cheap

"But there's no smaller reward that would get me".

Ah, but you would sell yourself cheaply for an OS that's not worth so much.
