After weeks of delays, this small company finally gets a few new computers that the CEO ordered, reports an IT pilot fish on the scene.

"I'm happy," says fish. "The users are happy to be getting new machines. Life is good.

"I proceed to unbox one, only to discover that the CEO had it preloaded with Windows 7.

"But after some research, I'm feeling OK about this. All programs so far are checking out for compatibility with Windows 7.

"Then we come to our phone system app. Windows 7 is not listed on the vendor's list. Maybe I'll get lucky, I think.

"Nope. The installer will download from the server, but no sign of it running any time in the near or distant future.

"It's going to be fun telling the bossman about this little problem next week."
