What can enterprise messaging developers learn from Facebook's email 'Project Titan'?

But it does have some interesting things to say to today's email developers, in enterprises and smaller businesses everywhere. Let's take a look, in The Long View...

What can enterprise email developers and administrators learn from these new ideas? Essentially, Facebook announced a revamped messaging system that:

  1. replaces a subject-based list of email with a people-based list;
  2. unifies some media types, hinting at more to come;
  3. archives messages permanently.
