After all the noise over Google's Chrome OS announcement yesterday, I find people scratching their heads. They can't see the point of what Google's doing. They especially can't see the point for enterprise IT. Let's try and remedy that, in The Long View...
With all the noise over Google's pilot netbook program, it's easy to miss the reality of Chrome OS. Google hasn't explained itself very clearly. Perhaps that's deliberate, to prevent their competitors understanding the full strategy. More likely, it's because Google is run by a huge pile of geeks, who find it tedious to explain things to us mere mortals.
