With the turmoil in Libya, attention has again turned to the Libyan Internet names registry, its registrars, and our reliance on them. (In case you didn't know, .ly is the country-wide top-level domain for Libya.) The situation has re-ignited questions about widely-used domains, such as bit.ly owl.ly, and 3.ly.
