I've just been studying a report published by the Ponemon Institute. With the grand title, Understanding Security Complexity in 21st Century IT Environments, it summarizes a survey conducted last month in the U.S. and four other countries.

It's framed as a way of understanding IT practitioners' opinions about "important global IT security issues." The key finding section burbles on about TCO, user-based policy management, the need to reduce complexity, and how many disparate security vendors are in organizations.
