HTC EVO owners, rejoice: Gingerbread is officially coming your way.
Sprint has just announced that the Android 2.3 upgrade will reach its EVO 4G this Friday, June 3. The upgrade will initially become available as a manual download; all you'll have to do is head into the "System Updates" section of your phone's main settings menu and select the "HTC Software Update" option to start the process. If you don't want to take the initiative, Sprint will start sending the update over-the-air to phones next week, beginning June 6.
The Gingerbread upgrade includes speed improvements, better Android battery life, and a refreshed user interface, among other new features and improvements. Specific to the EVO, the upgrade will also fix issues with syncing multiple Gmail accounts and properly displaying email attachments.
