This pilot fish is in the beginning stages of a project with a software vendor -- in fact, just at the point when fish and his team first get access to the software.
"To get the code and database, we will retrieve them from the vendor's FTP site," says fish.
"The vendor sends an email with the site and the ID, notifying us that the password will come in a separate email. I assume this is for security reasons, as the email is in open text.
"The vendor then sends us the password by forwarding the email that contains the site and ID."
