Behind with BI? You're not alone.

If you feel as though your organization is behind the curve with business intelligence, you’ve got plenty of company. During an executive roundtable discussion forum that kicked off the BI & Analytics Perspectives Conference this week, 20 percent of participants indicated that, in many ways, their organizations were still BI newbies.

While conference sessions focused on hot topics such as how to deal with social media, big data and mobile BI, these attendees said they were still working through fundamental issues such as how to integrate data silos. Some struggled to sell the value of BI as a decision support tool to the business, while others wanted to know how to get departmental executives with their own BI tool and data silos to relinquish control in favor of a shared resource with a more global view of operational data.
