Unclear on the concept of a new password

User calls the help desk to complain that she has to enter three passwords each time she tries to log in, reports the net admin pilot fish who's called in to solve the problem.

"She said this started when she recently had to change her password," fish says. "Before that, it had required two different passwords.

"I watched her log into her computer. Sure enough, she entered three passwords. Turned out the first two logins were just failures, because she was typing in two old, outdated passwords. On the third attempt, she entered her current password and got in.

"She had been doing this for months."
