Multimedia-mad Mac users tend to gobble up more data than most PC users. At least that's the theory behind Nexsan Technologies Inc.'s SATAbeast Xi 42-TB capacity storage system customized for Apple's Macintosh, which gets unveiled next week at Macworld Expo. Bob Woolery, senior vice president for marketing, says the device comes with either SCSI or Fibre Channel interfaces. He says the device has been optimized for Apple's Fibre Channel "nuances" and has an updated user interface "to look like a Mac." And, Woolery points out, "we made it look more sophisticated to appeal to Mac users." Design-conscious Mac admins can get the SATAbeast Xi starting March 15. Pricing starts at $1,200 for one terabyte.
