To Tell the Truth

I’m guilty. When I read the reports of Microsoft’s Surface tablets this week, I did a big internal eye roll and thought, “Microsoft copies Apple again.”

Then today, I saw a very funny post, and it reminded me that Microsoft actually came out with the Tablet PC in 2002; it’s just that no one cared at the time.

Over the holidays, my Facebook page was hacked and a phishing attack was launched using the "chat" feature, where my friends were contacted and told my wife and I had been mugged and that we needed money. It just goes to show that even with an alphanumeric password, your account information is not safe.

Today, it was narrowly reported that C programming language inventor and Unix co-creator Dennis Ritchie died after a long illness. He was 70. Earlier this month, Apple founder and CEO Steve Jobs also died after a long illness.

It’s quite the juxtaposition.

The technology community is rallying around the cause of getting as many possible donors to submit a simple sample to the national donor base.
