Shark Tank

Details, details

Pilot fish working for this library system gets a request from a branch manager. "He wants all responses to support e-mails to be sent to a list of users at the branch, not just the user submitting the support request," fish says.

Suggested solution: Create an e-mail distribution group. Branch manager's response: Sounds great, let's do it.

Per standard procedure, the help desk creates the distribution group, assigns ownership to the branch manager and sends an e-mail telling him that the group is ready for use.

A few days later, branch manager calls fish to ask why none of the technical staff is receiving the e-mail replies.

Fish looks into the issue and responds: "A distribution group is only as good as its members, and yours has none."

Branch manager's reply: "Oh, yeah."
