Facebook posters beware: peekaboo, we can see you
OK all you Facebookers, time to pay attention, unless you don't care who all was able to look at your "personal" photos. It seems pictures posted by members of the popular online meet and greet site were easily accessed even though security protections were set to limit who could view them. I'm writing this in the past tense because, according to Brandee Barker (Facebook spokesperson) the bug was repaired by the company within an hour after they were made aware of the weakness.
It bears repeating: don't be misguided enough to post ANY photos that you'd not be willing to have EVERYONE see at some time (now or in the future). Once they're on the net - even if you delete them - they're gone for others to do with what they please.
This seems like a no-brainer, but lots of young (and/or perhaps immature) computer users don't take into consideration that potential employers, spouses and even future children and maybe some enemies may not think as highly of certain pics. Even if you think otherwise at the moment, you may feel differently in the future.
