Raised a Catholic, I thought I knew all I needed about "confession" - that is until I read this "Confession is just a keypad away" by Sharon Jayson at USA Today.com. It seems that more than just priests are now privy to the revelations of peoples' deepest, darkest secrets. Not only does the Internet abound with confessor-friendly sites, but if you prefer doing your confessing a more old-fashioned way (but without involving a priest) you can even send them in via postcard! Of course, we can't be sure that everything these folks submit is true, but in some circles, to even think up some of these things would justify a confession! True or not, I called my wife over and we found ourselves with our eyebrows arched and our mouths agape at some of these disclosures. In a voyeuristic way, they were entertaining. I guess this is perhaps a harmless way of getting rid of some guilt when sinners are feeling repentant, let's just hope that no one recognizes those who wish to remain anonymous; then there'll be some serious explaining to do.
