IBM and Google and your health (records)

As the web 2.0 wanes, what is the next big thing? I think it is tying in business and personal systems that once existed outside the digital networks into the digital stream. Physical systems including heat, power and other utilities are an obvious choice as networks are put to work instead of just providing fun and games.

One less obvious but great opportunity is tying you into the digital stream. Recently IBM and Google announced a partnership where the instruments that monitor your health can become part of your personal digital record. This makes huge sense as how crazy is it to have to go to a doctor's office to take simple tests that could be self administered and remotely monitored. IBM and Google are ahead of the pack here.
