This pilot fish's local government is asking for donations to buy gifts for children in the foster-care system.
"Feeling in a holiday mood, I went to their Web site and found I could make a donation online, which I did," says fish. "I was told I would get an acknowledgement of my gift in my e-mail."

Thank you for selecting Official Payments Corporation for electronic payment of Holiday Wish. Your payment of $100.00 (which includes any penalty fees paid, if applicable) was sent to County Children Services on 12/22/2008.
"I guess they just tied into their payment system," fish says. "But the 'penalty fees' part of the message was a nice holiday touch."
