Run IE on a Windows box? In the mood to play with some free privacy-enhancement software? The crew at CyberDefender's got something new in beta for you. MyIdentityDefender is a toolbar that flags possible phishing sites, blocks pop-ups, and lets you ride herd on cookies, passwords and the like. There's a site-rating function, too, for those among us who enjoy expressing our opinions to our fellow humans; like CyberDefender's antimalware offering, the system relies on the power of the community to propagate updates, so sharing in this case really is caring. And the price is certainly right. If your tasklist at work or at home involves tech support for someone who needs simple, self-maintaining privacy protection, you might want to check this out.

MyIdentityDefender can be yours

Saw the first sentence in your piece.

I immediately knew it was not for me.

Why???

A few years ago, I ran as far away from IE as I could; all the way to Firefox. And, I am not turning back.

Although I have been using the beta versions of 3 since last November, I am waiting for the final release.

Recently, I have downloaded one of the nightly pre alpha builds of Firefox 4. It will be interesting to see where that will lead. I have seen reports stating that Mozilla is looking to further extend Firefox 4 into the computer and the internet. What they do will be of interest to me. AFAIAC, IE is a buggy piece of crap.
