No Google for you!

When you rely on Google for more than a dozen different applications, it's not just What Google knows about you that's at issue: It's how you function if the service becomes unavailable.
This morning, Google has become my single point of failure. I can't bring up any of my extensive list of Google Docs documents, Gmail, or contact information. Normally I'd assume that something is wrong on my end, but the Twitterfeed says it's not just me.
I've come to rely on Gmail as my informal contact list. Why write down e-mail addresses and phone numbers if you can quickly find them in Gmail? That strategy doesn't work well when Gmail is offline.
Fortunately, I have other e-mail accounts with Yahoo and Microsoft. Perhaps I should be forwarding my e-mail to those accounts as a back up...
11:50 a.m. Gmail finally pops up. Still not able to access calendar or docs...
11:52 a.m. Spoke too soon. Gmail hangs when sending a message...
