Linked-In

I've been a member of Linked-In for many months. Other than giving strangers (who seem to me to be one step away from spammers) access to me, it's been essentially useless.

Linked-In is one of those grand Internet experiments that was hyped to be a great career enhancer. It would expand your network of contacts so the best jobs and business deals would appear before you like magic. Not quite. Oh, you get a network, to be sure, one so large you remain anonymous. Linked-In says my network includes 343,300 people--343,290 of them I do not know. And, no offense to everyone, never want to.

Linked-In is a mediocre (at best) attempt to help people's careers. The best career and business networks are ones you personally build. Leave Linked-In to the losers.
