The Security Sector

If it's free, it's for me - but too bad I'm a Mac user!

Looks like Sophos has stepped up to the plate and is offering free rootkit detection software for Windows users. Kudos to them for offering it at no charge. On a personal note, Sophos antivirus has been protecting my Mac for nearly two years now. Not that I've ever had a Mac virus - the Sophos antivirus is there to ferret out the Windows virus that, on a rare occasion, slips past my ISP. That way I won't inadvertently pass anything on to my Windows using brethren. By the way, Sysinternals also offers a free rootkit detection utility called RootkitRevealer.
