Some privacy's been lost since 9/11 attacks
- IT TOPICS:Security
It's been five years since the September 11 attacks and I still think about it every day. There is no doubt that those horrific events shook the very foundation of our free and open society. One after effect was the increase in electronic-surveillance by the U.S. feds. It is known that the perpetrators of 9/11 used email as a communication tool, therefore surveillance should be a good thing if it can be proven to thwart future attacks. Well, not everyone feels that way and as this article points out, some feel as if they've lost too much privacy. Well, we all have and while I'm a big privacy advocate I'm willing to give up some of it if it means saving even a single precious life.
