McGruff takes a byte out of crime

Who out there does not remember good ol' McGruff the Crime Dog? If you were born any time before or during the mid-70's, McGruff has been a part of your life, teaching you how to "take a bite out of crime" (see this article on the history of McGruff). Well, now he is going after cyber crime. And I have to say that this is a very welcome development.

McGruff the Crime Dog is ready to fight one of the largest problems facing homes, schools and businesses across America: cyber crime.
As Mike Rothman points out here, having a character like this is very important to making lessons stick. I am very optimistic that this will be as effective as McGruff was on typical crimes. The digital generation has given up a lot of security in the name of features, but I am hoping this will impact them as well as future generations and help with security issues on a level where it counts: personal responsibility.
