Free Software Magazine Issue 4
- IT TOPICS:Applications, Linux & Unix
Free Software Magazine is not about Linux; it's about free software (including open source) on any platform. As someone who uses FOSS on all of his systems (which run the gamut from commercial Unix to Linux, OS X and Windows XP, you can see why it appeals.
I should probably also add a disclaimer that I also write for FSM; but that doesn't, in any way alter the fact that this is a damn fine magazine, of which I am a small part. Best of all, after subscribers have had it for a month, the rest of us get to read it for free as an Acrobat PDF.
Today sees the release of Issue 4 and it's another bumper issue.
Among the many articles this month are:
A suite of three Focus articles (one of which is mine) on using and developing free software in a proprietary world, a great article on keeping information on your computer safe, and a thought provoking piece on the use of free software over properietary in the 'not-so-affluent world'.
Go ahead and read the current free issue; and while you're at it, read the previous free issues too.
