$300 Blu-ray PC drive coming to a store near you

According to a press release on BusinessWire, Pioneer's answer to over-priced Blu-ray Disc drives -- the BDC-2202 -- will be arriving in U.S. stores in June after making its debut earlier this year in China. The Blu-ray Disc drive boasts a $299 price tag and a read rate of up to 5X. The drive comes bundled with software to ensure it's compatible with new Blu-ray movie releases and the ability to backup personal data, media files and photos to either a DVD or CD. The software also allows you to record video directly from a camcorder to a DVD without the use of the PC's hard drive.
