Hitting the Security Nerve

Child pornography found on former 'Law and Order: SVU' actor's computer

Child pornography Albert Insinnia (a former actor on the 'Law and Order: SVU' series) "was charged with two counts of possession of child pornography after authorities allegedly discovered 180 images of child porn on the hard drive of the actor's laptop computer."  The lawyer is saying, "the hard drive on Insinnia's computer has been transferred various times in the last few years and a variety of people have had access to it."

How did the authorities find it?

The investigation began after Insinnia took his computer to a Best Buy electronics store in West Paterson for repairs. A technician found the images, police said, and alerted a police detective working security at the store.

Obviously I have no idea of whether this guy is guilty or innocent.  I'm not sure why his hard drive had been transferred various times.  I can see why different people had access to it.  That happens a lot today, especially with personal laptops.  And though I would think someone would remove that kind of stuff from their computer before they took it to Best Buy, people have done dumber things.
