Use "regular expressions" for Word find and replace operations
- IT TOPICS:Applications
On Digital Inspiration they have yet another good tip for Word users interested in doing more advanced find and replace operations.
You can use "regular expressions" such as * or ? (the two types of wildcards - don't worry, it's explained in the blog I linked to) to find or replace date ranges or different word forms (plurals, different tenses of verbs, etc.). For instance won* will find any word beginning with the letters won, so it will find wonder, won't, wonton, etc.
Anyhow, if you've ever had the need to do more complex find and replaces in Word vs just finding one word and replacing it with another check out the post.
There's also several useful links on the bottom of the post.
