If you have an online bank account, trade stocks over the Internet, plan business and vacation travel with Travelocity, Expedia and the like, use multiple e-mail accounts or pay utility bills and shop online, Pageonce might just be for you.
A service of Pageonce Inc. in Palo Alto, Calif., the eponymous operation lets you combine all those online tasks into one, well-organized view in your browser. You can do everything you normally do with the individual services, such as book flights, buy or sell securities, pay bills and the rest, from a single online service.
According to CEO Guy Goldstein, "managing online life is a big thing and it's painful." He cites the numerous logins and passwords that need to be maintained as well as the hassle of visiting so many Web sites to keep track of so many mundane tasks.
Goldstein claims that Pageonce is more secure than keeping all those separate accounts. He says Pageonce notifies you about every transaction that occurs in all of your accounts and will send you an e-mail for what it deems is an important change in any account.
The service is free to end users. Pageonce makes its moola by offering promotions from companies you already do business with. For example, in the online banking section of your Pageonce browser view, your bank might advertise sedate, text-only mortgage rates or car loans.
Pageonce enters public today with a complete feature set due in six to nine months. Come Q3 the company will deliver an application for iPhone users.
