Red Hat unveils Fedora 9

Like clockwork, Red Hat Inc. today debuted its latest version of its community-supported open source Linux operating system, Fedora 9.

Among its new features are the debut of the latest KDE 4 graphical user interface, with new integrated search features, and the ability to create a bootable image of the operating system on a USB thumb drive without having to reformat the drive or lose other data.

Fedora 9 comes six months after last November's release of the Fedora 8 version, under Red Hat's fast-moving schedule for its community-supported operating system.
