There are plenty of Windows-haters out there, but Rush Limbaugh, the loudest of the loudmouths, isn't among them. The conservative talk-show host and all-around bloviator is getting on Steve Jobs' case because Limbaugh has been having serious problems with his four Mac Pros since he upgraded to Mac OS X 10.5.2.
On his show yesterday, Limbaugh complained that his Macs were no longer working properly, and he joked about making a direct appeal to Steve Jobs for help. Limbaugh posted the transcript on his Web site, and in it, he complains not only that the Macs aren't working properly, but that Mac tech support has been abysmal, at best.
Here's his complaint about the way he's been treated by tech support: "Nothing gets done! All use file reports and get lost in the Apple bureaucratic system -- and occasionally a good-intentioned, good-hearted Apple rep will get on the phone, try to solve it, and will say, 'Yep. It's the same problem I'm having on my machine.' They're having the same problem at Apple that I'm having here, but it's supposed to work."
Limbaugh, in the transcript, said he's considering making a direct appeal to Steve Jobs, even though Jobs supports Democrats, an anathema to Limbaugh. The talk-show host and his pals, by the way, seems to know that he himself may be an anathema to the tech-literate.
A Limbaugh employee jokes in the transcript that if Limbaugh manages to get through to Jobs and ask for help, "His reply is going to be, 'Mr. Limbaugh. Do us a favor and endorse Windows.'"
