Sunbelt Software is the company behind a pair of anti-malware products, CounterSpy and VIPRE. The head of the company, Alex Eckelberry has been blogging about malicous software for a while now.Â
Today he warned that mlb.com pushing malware.
Quoting:
I would stay away from this site until they get it cleaned up.  We are seeing various mlb sites redirecting to fake antivirus scan. These are almost certainly being done by malilcious flash advertisements. Â
In the old days there were safe areas of the Internet, but no more.Â
Update: As of January 8, 2009 Alex gives mlb.com a clean bill of health.Â
