State of the art park!

I have to say that this article "Unified communications takes center field at Mets' new ballpark" by Matt Hamblen piqued my interest. I'm impressed that the Mets new stomping grounds, with the help of Nortel, will have a state of the art unified system for staff to communicate with each other. That'll extend to their communication with the public as well, as they're including VoIP for about half of their call center agents according to the article. Matt goes on to say that the other half of the call center agents will still operate using "traditional phone gear" in case of access problems with the IP network ... better safe than sorry.
Kudos to them for utilizing wireless and IP technology and I envision that one day all sports arenas will follow suit. I mean, while I haven't been there myself, people have told me that they were able to access free Wi-Fi at Fenway Park in Boston.
Since I'm a die hard Yankees Fan, I'm hoping that the new Yankee Stadium management takes a hint and goes Wi-Fi not just for intra-park communications but allows access for the general public too. We certainly pay enough for tickets (and I'm sure that won't change after the new stadium is built); why shouldn't free Wi-Fi be part of the equation, too?
