Students have distaste for "juicy" dirt

I haven't been in college for years, but apparently, a site called JuicyCampus.com is making collegiate news. Apparently people are able to post anonymously at this popular site and the threads can get downright raunchy. I guess it's the anonymity that attracts people who want to malign others. The site is a popular destination even though lots of students don't approve of the content.

Oddly enough, at some college campuses - known for their strident support of freedom of speech - some students have actually requested that administrators ban the site. At Pepperdine for example, the student government voted 23-5 to ask for a ban. (Read more about this here)

Administrators can't ban the site, though; and let's face it, the students would still be able to access the site outside the campus networks anyway. Their advice, don't post items at the site and don't seek out malicious gossip.  I can't say I disagree. Just like rumors years ago, eventually interest peters out when people get interested in the next fad.
