Tech could make bank bailout salaries transparent

Today, President Obama proposed setting a $500,000 cap on pay for  executives in companies taking a (handout? corporate welfare check?) bailout from the feds.  Although to me this does not seem like particularly bitter medicine, it did get me to thinking that technology certainly should be playing more of a role in adding visibility to the Big Bailout. While the SEC has not done a very good job at keeping tabs on the likes of Bernie Madoff, they have done an excellent job at making SEC filings easy to search. The SEC IDEA search replaced the Edgar search system which already was good.

In the free advice category, why shouldn't those bankers on the government dole be required to list all salaries, bonuses and government bailout funds disbursements? After all, it is our money.
