DDH Software, publisher of HanDBase, is conducting its annual HanDBase Applet of the Year contest through the end of the month.
The contest gives anybody with a good idea for managing personal or business information on a mobile device the opportunity to turn their vision into reality using HanDBase, the leading handheld database system. While many applets are given away free on the HanDBase site, developers also have the opportunity to create small businesses selling their applets. One major advantage of developing on HanDBase is that it runs on a wide selection of handheld platforms including BlackBerry, Palm OS, Symbian S60 and UIQ, and Windows Mobile Classic/Professional and Standard.
DDH Software has not announced its plans for the Apple iPhone/iPod Touch platform yet, but industry speculation is that it is in the process of porting to that next-generation platform also, thus putting applet developers in a position to compete in what promises to be a fast growing marketplace.
