The World Is My Office

Tiny, inexpensive projector hits

SANTA BARBARA, CALIF. -- There's a new mini-projector in town, and it's totally different in size from any other. Yes, it's smaller than the smallest conventional projectors, but fatter than the other cell phone-sized "pico" projectors. It's much easier to lug than most projectors, but, sadly, won't fit comfortably in your pocket.

The Epoq EPP-HH01 Pico Video Projector is in a class of its own.

The projector tosses up a 44-inch, 640 x 480 projection. That's good enough for quick-and-dirty elevator pitches -- as long as the lights are out in the elevator. None of these tiny projectors can crank out the ultra bright lights of full size projectors. It's got a puny 3-watt LED that achieves just 7-10 ANSI Lumens.

It's a bit more powerful than the pocket or cell phone projectors. And it's got something else they don't have: A speaker.

You can buy it for $230 at an online catalog called Gadget Craver.
