The World Is My Office

Toshiba's amazing pocket projector quietly demonstrated

SANTA BARBARA, CALIF. -- Toshiba quietly showed a very cool-looking LED pocket projector at Europe's IFA 2008. The device is about the size of an HTC Touch Pro, but throws up 10 Lumen of light. I don't have much information, but I do have a picture and a video demonstrating brightness.

The projector is just 100 grams in weight, and
10 x 4.5 x 1.7 cm in size.

This isn't the first pocket-sized projector. To the best of my knowledge, I've written about all of them in this space as they were announced or shipped. But the Toshiba LED Pico Projector looks especially sleek and cool, while remaining business-like. Plus, it's from Toshiba, rather than some tiny company nobody's ever heard of.

I'll keep you posted on this amazing project as details emerge.

What People Are Saying

it seems folk mostly

it seems folk mostly consider micro projectors for business use. I want one as a highly portable lcd work screen replacement. That way can use an ultra small laptop and actually do real work via a projected 15-25" screen. I'd happily work in dimmed light too. still waiting for either a built in version or one I can clip to the top of my screen just like a webcam.

Good product

Good product pocket projector can you tell me the detailed features and prices??

What is the price?

Please, I want to know the price of the pocket projector.

Projectors and Projector Screens

A compact projector is a fabulous idea for business on-the-go, but if you need to bring your own projector what about your own projector screen? There is a ecommerce site that offers plenty of tripod folding projection screens with carrying cases to really bang out your presentation. Check out alltecstores.com for on the go projection screens and all audio visual needs.

Wow, this would fit really

Wow, this would fit really nice in my pocket, too bad you don't have further information about this, I am eager for updates. Now that they have come with this, it would be interesting to see their vision for mini overhead projectors.

Portable Screen

Any flat surface will work as a screen. With only 10 lumen output, a picture larger than a sheet of paper is going to be difficult to view. This is more of a sales tool than a consumer item.

Enjoy.

Oh, I thought you said...

Oh, I thought you said pocket proTector!

My bad.
