I've been writing about technology since the mid-90s for the East Bay Business Times, the late, lamented NewsBytes, the South China Morning Post and Reuters, with walkabouts as a dot-com manager and public radio producer.
Formally, I cover many (but not all) areas of Microsoft, focusing on Windows/Windows Server, Office, Outlook and Exchange, SQL Server, software licensing and more. In practice, this means I write about Redmond's enterprise competitors in areas such as the OS, desktop apps/SaaS, messaging and collaboration and databases. I also cover Oracle, too.
Informally, I'm also a fool for shiny Asian gadgets and a good techno-nostalgia yarn (which is why I still hope to restore that circa '82 KayPro luggable in the garage and make it the centerpiece of my living room, over the wife's objections).
