The Digital Media Machine

Ian Lamont was Computerworld's senior editor, new media, until taking a new position at the Industry Standard in January 2008. While at Computerworld, he helped devise, launch and manage Shark Bait, blogs, podcasts, video and user-generated content initiatives.

Ian created his first hand-coded tech blog in 2002, and continues to blog at I, Lamont. His Computerworld blog, The Digital Media Machine, was recognized in the award for "Best Blog" in the 54th Annual Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Awards Competition. He was also named in the ASBPE silver award for Interactive Community that Computerworld received in 2008.

Ian became managing editor of the Industry Standard in 2008. His Standard articles can be seen here. Ian's freelance writing has appeared in Case Currents, The American and The South China Morning Post.
