Ian Lamont was Computerworld's senior editor, new media, until taking a new position as managing editor of the Industry Standard in early 2008. His Computerworld blog was recognized in the award for "Best Blog" in the 54th Annual Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Awards Competition. He was also named in the ASBPE silver award for Interactive Community that Computerworld received in 2008, and won a "Best in Business" award in 2009 from the Society of American Business Editors and Writers.

From 2010-2011, Ian attended MIT as a full-time student in the Sloan Fellows program, splitting his time between business-focused coursework at the Sloan School of Management and cutting-edge digital media technologies at the MIT Media Lab, CSAIL, and Comparative Media Studies department.

Ian is currently the co-founder of Invantory, a mobile/Web startup that is creating a platform for Boston classified advertisements. You can read about his startup experience on the Invantory classifieds blog.
