Verizon FiOS tops triple-play services

The February issue of Consumer Reports says Verizon FiOS is your best bet when it comes to triple-play services of phone, broadband Internet, and TV. This shouldn't surprise Computerworld readers --- our own survey of broadband providers put Verizon FiOS at the top as well.

In our survey and report, Verizon FiOS topped other ISPs in virtually every category, from overall satisfaction to speed, and connection reliability.

What's the worst ISP, according to Consumer Reports? Overall, Charter comes in dead last. It was rated second to last for broadband, second to last for TV, and last for phone service.

What People Are Saying

FIOS

This is a request, not a comment. Does anyone out there have a reliable list of where FIOS is going to be installed and when? I've been ready to switch for over a year, but so far no installation anywhere in this area. Or is the Comcast ad possibly true...that only the richest neighborhoods are selectively getting connected?

Fios TV

Verizon has released that it is committed to installing FIOS nationwide. The company is going about this in a area by area install. They have to install all new fibre optic lines before offering service in a new area. They are currently installing in Central Richmond, Virginia not really a hot spot of upper income homes. Give them time you will be glad when you finally see the difference.

rotten cell service.

I would love to fios/home phone/tv/internet
where we live all these services are almost non
existant. Have tried fios when will it work???
Our cell service stinks also but is the only one that kinda ...almost...sometimes works.

If politicians actually

If politicians actually thought about the people in your community instead of trying to make a name for themselves by trying to strong arm Verizon, then Verizon would probably already be there

Fios Availability

You can put your state two letter abbreviation at end of web address and this should give you information on scheduled rollout of fios service. It has less to do with economics and more to do with politics.

I happen to live on the

I happen to live on the "ugly side of the railroad tracks"... and I have FIOS... no clue if there's a list for when or where it will be available.
